Description de l'évenement

Children with autism, ADHD and sensory modulation disorders are challenged at keeping their bodies still, their minds on task, and their emotional needs met. These factors impact their ability to interact appropriately in social situations. This one-day workshop focuses on the dynamics of self-regulation and offers a practical approach to increasing children’s functional skills with interventions derived from traditional, technological and global sources. Attendees come away with strategies and interventions for the sensory child, as well as methods to calm, train and effectively engage the hyperactive child with ADHD. Also covered are communication, transition and behavior techniques for children of all ages with autism. Participants also learn skills to implement timing therapy, mindfulness attention training, simple sound therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and methods for physically grounding a child. Also covered are apps for smart phones and tablets that provide effective interventions and on-the-spot regulation - See more at: http://www.jackhirose.com/workshop/self-regulation-in-children-140514ottawa/#sthash.TYQyKdpg.dpuf
