Hospice Huronia |
A charitable organization that enhances the quality of life for individuals and their families facing life-threatening illness or bereavement. Trained volunteers provide physical, emotional and social support at home, in hospital or nursing home. Volunteer training courses are held two times annually and bereavement support is available in group or individual settings as needed. Referrals may be made through physicians, care givers, friends, family or other community services. Services provided are free of charge.
Clients include anyone diagnosed with a life threatening illness or requiring bereavement support. Visiting volunteers must complete a 30-hour training program. Other volunteer assistance is appreciated for fund raising and administrative support.
Located at Penetanguishene site of the Georgian Bay General Hospital.
