Back-On-Track Program

Program for youth who 1) have not attended school regularly over the past 6 months due to depression and/or anxiety, and 2) would like to work towards completing their high school education, and 3) who are aged 13-17. The program has a significant parental support and education component. The core Back-on-Track team consists of teachers, a Child and Youth Counsellor, Psychology and Psychiatry.
A program of the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) and the Ottawa-Carleton Catholic School Board (OCCSB).
The classroom is physically located at Immaculata Catholic High School, on 140 Main Street, Ottawa.
Exclusion criteria (i.e. youth that would not be a good fit for this program)
* Externalizing behaviors such as truancy, aggression or violence.
* ASD diagnosis
* Complex mental health disorders such as borderline personality disorder, schizophrenia, etc.
* Acute self-harming and/or suicidal ideation
* Daily drug use and/or substance dependence

CHEO provides a variety of Day Treatment Programs, such as:
* Back on Track School Program (for youth with troubles attending school due to anxiety or mood problems), based at Immaculata High School.
* Steps to Success Program (for children with troubles attending mainstream school programs due to emotional/behavioural difficulties), based at St. Luke's Catholic School.
* Millenium Ado Program (for francophone youth who have troubles in mainstream school due to emotional/behavioural difficulties), based Gisele Lalonde High School in Orleans
Access to all Day Treatment Programs is done through the Coordinated Access and Referral Committee of Ottawa. All referrals must come from the schools.

Ce programme fournit des services internes et externes aux enfants et aux adolescents présentant un trouble de l’alimentation.
Le programme pour les patients hospitalisés fournit des traitements spécialisés aux enfants et aux adolescents gravement malades ayant besoin d’être admis à l’hôpital. Les patients bénéficient de traitements spécialisés répondant à leurs besoins médicaux, psychiatriques, scolaires, psychologiques et nutritionnels.
De plus, le CHEO fournit des traitements de jour intensifs, des évaluations et des services de suivi pour les patients externes.
