Hôpitaux
La plupart des hôpitaux ont des services de santé mentale qui peuvent inclure des psychologues, psychiatres, travailleurs sociaux et autres professionnels. Les programmes offerts sont généralement:
- Programmes externes, où l'on vient à l'hôpital pour les services de santé mentale;
- Traitement de jour : programmes d'hospitalisation partielle où une personne vient à l'hôpital pour des traitements pour des périodes plus longues ou plus fréquentes, ou pour une thérapie plus intensive que ce que l'on pourrait recevoir si on voyait un thérapeute à l'externe ou un clinicien;
- Programmes à l'interne, où une personne est admise à l'hôpital afin d'assurer un niveau élevé de contrôle et de soins jusqu'à ce que le problème s'améliore suffisamment pour que la personne puisse être considérée comme étant ambulatoire.
