Troubles du comportement alimentaire, y compris l’anorexie et la boulimie
Les troubles du comportement alimentaire sont malheureusement trop communs dans une société qui créé des attentes irréelles envers l'image corporelle. L'anorexie (aussi connue comme « anorexie nerveuse ») est un problème où l'individu mange tellement peu qu'il devient sous-alimenté. Les symptômes peuvent inclure l'arrêt des menstruations (chez les femmes), se sentir gelé, ou avoir des troubles de l'humeur ou de la pensée. La boulimie est unproblème où l'individu maintient un poids plus ou moins normal, mais mange de façon exagérée (mange de grandes quantités en même temps) et/ou se purge (se fait vomir).
